The City of Fairfax Band presents Timeless, a celebration of music that spans generations and explores the power of storytelling, rhythm, and melody. This program highlights the many ways music connects us to history, culture, and the human experience. The concert features Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, a tribute to Abraham Lincoln’s life and legacy with narration by Rich Kleinfeldt of WETA. The program continues with the fiery energy of Libertango, a work inspired by the spirit and intensity of tango, featuring the artistry of Gil Hoffer, retired member of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own.” From moments of reflection to vibrant expressions of passion and imagination, Timeless showcases the remarkable versatility and expressive range of the modern concert band.
