Spotlight on the Arts–Fairfax Saxophone Quartet@Sherwood Community Center

“FSQ Plays Music of Greece”  This program  presents traditional music from different regions of Greece, including the Aegean Sea Islands, Crete, and  Macedonia. The music includes songs by Greek composers, Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hadzidakis, and Marilena Zlatanou plus a special arrangement of “Samiotisa” by Michael Francis.

Additional pieces include

• “Temples in the Shape of the Sky” (from “Axion Esti”) by Theodorakis
• “All Alone Am I” by Hadzidakis
• “Misirlou” by Roubanis
• “Strose to Stroma Sou” by Theodorakis.

The audience is invited to dance along to

• “Pentozalis”
• “Sertos”
• “Tsamikos”
• “Zorba’s Dance” from Zorba the Greek

The concert and parking are free.
