The Northern Virginia Youth Winds (NVYW) opened their season with a very special premier concert this past Sunday at Robinson High School. The NVYW welcomed the Blackburn High School Band from Melbourne, Australia as part of their American tour on their way to the Midwest Clinic in Chicago.
Despite losing their dress rehearsal day to the snow, all the ensembles performed wonderfully. The concert included presentations by City of Fairfax Mayor David Meyer, CFBA Board Member and City Council member Ellie Schmidt, and Bec Allen, Cultural Program Manager for the Embassy of AustraliaÂ
