From time to time we will be collecting stories about our musicians and publishing them on this page. This is a new feature so we’re a bit thin on subjects at the moment, but a couple of our Main Street musicians have already shared their musical stories with us. Many of the stories, you’ll notice, are about someone who grew up playing in elementary, middle, high school, and college, and then went looking for a band to play with in their adult years. Stories will vary from someone who hasn’t played their band instrument in one, two, or up to 4 decades, to someone who is a music teacher, former military band member, or other professional. Maybe you will be inspired by the mom who picked up her kid’s saxophone after her daughter abandoned it, or the former student of a director who met him after 20 years and decided to play in his ensemble.
