The Potomac Brass Quintet presents diverse musical styles ranging from classical music to Broadway show selections, jazz, rags, blues, pops, and marches. The Quintet has played for audiences throughout the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., metropolitan areas. The ensemble's engagements have included official ceremonies and receptions, weddings, and private parties. The Quintet, organized in 1984, has been featured in the Fairfax County and Fredericksburg, Va. Library Recital Series, the Concert in the Great Hall series at the National Building Museum, Washington, D.C., the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival, the Kennedy Center's Holiday Festival, at Woodlawn and Sully Plantations, the Woodrow Wilson House, for receptions at the Defense Intelligence Agency and award ceremonies and receptions for the Department of the Treasury and the Department of Agriculture, for receptions at the U.S. Capitol, and wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery. They recently provided music for a reception honoring new members of Congress at the Library of Congress. They have also performed for events at many of the major hotels in the area, at the Fairfax City and Fairfax County Summer in the Park series, and at area nursing and retirement homes, to mention just a few of their extensive performing engagements. |
