Who we are

Join the Band

The City of Fairfax Band is an all-volunteer ensemble consisting of over 90 members from all walks of life. To qualify for the City Band, individual musicians must be able to demonstrate that they can perform the music to the satisfaction of the Music Director.

At this time, all sections of the City of Fairfax Concert Band are full and most sections have a waiting list of prospective new members, including alternates. Please note that we can neither predict nor guarantee that any openings will occur in the near future.

CFBA's new concert band, The Main Street Community Band, is accepting members in most sections. Membership in the Main Street Band is open to all wind, brass and percussion instrumentalists 18 years of age or older with a wide range of abilities from those new to an instrument or renewing musical skills to those of moderate or better experience and ability.

If you are interested in joining the Main Street Band or in adding your name to the waiting list for a particular section in the City Band, please send an e-mail message to info@fairfaxband.org. In the message, please include your complete mailing address, daytime and evening telephone numbers, and e-mail address along with your instrument and a brief statement of your musical experience. You will receive a prompt reply via e-mail acknowledging our receipt of your request.
